Our Story
Our founder (wearing the Pink Wisteria Veleno dress) photographed with Italian Designer Luisa Positano, in Positano, Italy. July 2024.
A serendipitous blend of family heritage and Italian craftsmanship, Bellissima Bacchus was born from a legacy of living life beautifully.
Our story begins with a name – one inspired not by Italian roots, but by Bacchus, the Roman god of wine and revelry.
In our founder's family, the Bacchus name has always been synonymous with embracing and celebrating life's finest moments.
This entrepreneurial spirit was first kindled by our founder's great-grandfather Rahim Bacchus in 1913, creating a legacy that would span generations.
Fashion has been woven into our story from the beginning. Our founder's grandmother, a skilled seamstress in Boston's fashion district, created countless dresses from her Singer sewing machine. Though some may have been "itchy tulle in winter," they planted the seeds of a lifelong love for fashion in our founder.
For over 42 years, her grandfather Basil Bacchus served as both mentor and inspiration to our founder. His most profound lesson? "Leave this world more beautiful than you found it."
Today, his initials "B.B." live on in our brand, a constant reminder of his guiding light.
In Positano, Italy, we found our creative home. Working alongside talented designer Luisa Positano, we bring Mediterranean elegance to life through exquisitely handcrafted pieces. Each garment carries the warmth and sophistication of the Amalfi Coast.
Bellissima ("most beautiful" in Italian) Bacchus is more than a fashion brand – it's a celebration of living life fully, beautifully, and authentically. We raise our glasses 🍷 to the art of elegant living and the celebration of feminine beauty in all its forms.
